Dirty Car?

Next time you have a dirty car, don't worry about washing it, just draw pictures instead!

Interesting bookshelf

Tired of boring old bookcases? Here's a James Hopkins bookcase idea I found on StumbleUpon:

"Blow"

Not too long ago I watched the movie "Blow" starring Johnny Depp as George Jung who was a major drug dealer in the 60s. He wasn't just any drug dealer though; he made the whole cocaine industry in America. Pretty amazing if you ask me. Here's a smart man just trying to get money like everybody else--he just happens to take the drug route. Too bad he couldn't invest his brain, energy, and time into something else so he wouldn't be in jail until around 2015. Anyways, amazing movie. If you have the time to check it out, I definitely recommend it.

Beautiful Photo

StumbleUpon seems to be my goto thing for basically everything on my blog. Here is a photo I came across that I find absolutely amazing.

Adorable Bracelet

I love this bracelet. New project?

Weight Loss?

Came across this bizarre way people can apparently lose weight...hmm interesting:

1. sniff a banana, apple, or peppermint: I guess a Doctor did a study on 3,000 people and he came to the conclusion that the more you sniffed, the more weight you lose. It's all about tricking the brain.

2. hang a mirror opposite your seat at the table: eating in front of a mirror apparently cuts your food intake by 1/3...that adds up. I guess looking at yourself in the mirror is almost like yourself reminding you that you're trying to lose weight.

3. surround yourself with blue: blue actually acts as an appetite suppressant while colors like red, yellow, and orange make you want to eat more.

4. shoot your food: not with a gun of course, but with a camera. Forget trying to write down what you eat what century are you from? Instead, break out your camera and take a snapshot! Turns out that when you look back at it, you'll actually stop and think before indulging again.

5. tie yourself up: not to a tree...you'll just look stupid. French women actually tie a ribbon around their waist beneath their clothing before eating. It keeps you conscious of your stomach as you eat (and the ribbon gets tighter)

Awkward Street Sign...

Umm...ok.

Tattoo

Here's my inspiration for a tattoo...

My Break Project

Over my winter break, I hope to master making these bracelets :)

Zombie Tattoo Boy goes bare!

I came across this on...you guessed it StumbleUpon! I thought it was really cool. A photographer came across this man on the street and wanted to do a photo shoot with him without his tattoos! I guess there's this special creme that is used to make tattoos disappear for movies and photo shoots and such. Sweet!

Brownie Peppermint Cookies

I made these for my family the other day and they were a huge hit! These cookies are a wonderful holiday treat. Enjoy!

Ingredients:
1 (18.3 oz) pkg brownie mix (I used Betty Crocker fudge brownie mix)
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup packed light-brown sugar
1/4 tsp salt
2 large eggs
2 Tbsp milk
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 tsp vanilla extract
3/4 tsp peppermint extract
1 recipe vanilla cream frosting, recipe follows
1/2 cup crushed peppermint candy canes

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Butter a cookie sheet and set aside.  In a large mixing bowl, whisk together brownie mix, flour, brown sugar and salt.  Add in eggs and milk and stir with a large spoon.  Add in melted butter, vanilla and peppermint extract, stir until well blended.  Spoon dough by heaping tablespoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet (you can fit 12 per sheet).  Bake for 10 minutes.  Remove from oven and allow to cool completely before frosting.  Once cool, frost each cookie and sprinkle with crushed candy canes.

Vanilla Cream Frosting

Ingredients:
4 cups powdered sugar
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
6 Tbsp heavy cream
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp salt

Directions:
In a large mixing bowl, with an electric mixer, whip together sugar, butter and cream until fluffy.  Stir in vanilla and salt, blend well.
